Knoxville Area Association of REALTORS


Knoxville Area Association of REALTORS members gathered Thursday evening, February 7th at The Foundry on the World’s Fair site to install the association’s 2013 officers and directors. Dolly Smith, broker/owner of Rocky Top Realty was installed as president.


Doyle Webb, Realty Executives Associates, is the 2013 president-elect. Michael Pappas, Coldwell Banker Wallace & Wallace is the 2013 treasurer. Amanda Stone, LaConte Realty is the immediate past president.

Directors for 2013 are Terri Click Sloan, Century 21 Howe Realty & Auction; Betsy Coleman, Betsy Coleman Realty Co.; Rusty Ensor, Realty Executives Associates; Vicki Everbach, Realty Executives Associates; Jeff Grebe, Wiechert Realtors Advantage Plus; Barry Hensley, Real Living Southland Realtors; Richard Levenson, RE/MAX Preferred Properties; Linda Meese, Pinnacle Real Estate; Adelina Rotar, Keller Williams; Patricia Shepherd, Keystone Select Properties; Sally Spark, Century 21 Select Properties; Angie Page, Home Place Realty; BJ Swinehart, RE/MAX Preferred Properties; Jim Wallace, Coldwell Banker Wallace & Wallace.

John Adams III, founding principal of Cornerstone Commercial Real Estate Services, a Cushman & Wakefield Alliance Member, received the 2012 Realtor of the Year award. The award is the highest honor given to a Knoxville Area Association of REALTORS member. Adams is the first commercial member of Knoxville Area Association of REALTORS to receive the award in fifteen years.

Amanda Stone announced two Presidential Award recipients. BJ Swinehart received a presidential nod for her work as chairperson of the bylaws PAG. Jim Wallace was recognized for his work as chairperson of the MLS PAG that has been doing due diligence in the selection of the MLS vendor.

The Knoxville Area Association of REALTORS Affiliate Council recognized Valerie Privett, Privett Insurance Group, as 2012 Affiliate of the Year.

Sally Sparks, Century 21 Select Properties, was honored by the Knoxville Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors as 2012 Member of the Year. In addition, Laurie Jaynes received recognition as the chapter’s Affiliate Member of the Year.

Following the installation and awards program, members enjoyed a Downtown Hoedown with lots of food and fixins and boot scootin’ to the music of the Southern Drawl band. More than a few members were brave enough to saddle up for a wild ride on a menacing mechanical bull. “With many members reporting improving sales and market conditions, the evening provided members an opportunity to celebrate and express their optimism for a fantastic real estate year ahead“, said Knoxville Area Association of REALTORS EVP Lyle Irish.
