Real Estate Agent: “I’m sorry, that home was sold 3 months ago; I’d be happy to send you some similar homes that are nearby.”

Have you ever had this conversation?

Real Estate Agent: “I’m sorry, that home was sold 3 months ago; I’d be happy to send you some similar homes that are nearby.”

Buyer: “I wish you real estate folks would get your act together – I’ve been looking for weeks and it seems like these websites have wrong information half the time”.

Buyer: “It shows here that 9834 Park lane is listed for $205,000.”

What we run into are the clients getting disappointed or upset. They find these other homes online at non-REALTOR web site that are not available anymore, also many real estate agent and broker web sites only display there own homes for sale. It's like you go fishing and someone tells you should have been there last Saturday.

Before you start your online search, here are seven pitfalls to avoid with NON-REALTOR online real estate listings: 1. The house has already been sold. 2. The price is wrong. 3. Square footage, other basic facts are deceptive. 4. Listing history doesn't tell full story. 5. No mention that it's a foreclosure. 6. Misleading or outright deceptive photos.
